**Carrizozo Schools is continuing with the  Christmas Donation Project this year.   In past years staff and community members have donated money to buy clothes for our students that may need a little help.  We try to help as many students as possible and in the past have help about 20 - 25 students a year.  They usually get a couple of outfits.  Ms. Serna, Mrs. E. Barela, and Ms. Rossi are the ones that go and shop for the items from JC Penney in Alamogordo.  If you would like to help out, please bring your donations to the HS office by December 13th.

**The Natural Helpers are sponsoring a Food and Clothing Drive.  We are setting up a "Grizzly Pantry" that will have non-perishible food items, gently used clothing, and personal item bags in it for those students that are in need.  We are holding a contest and the class that brings in the most items will get are reward for their efforts. The contest will end on Dec. 18th.  If anyone has clothes racks they would like to donate or let us use, we would greatly appreciate it. Contact Cathy Barela at 575-648-2346.

**Otero County Electric Cooperative, Inc. is sponsoring students in their service areas to attend the 2019 Government-in-Action Youth Tour.  It is a great opportunity for our students to visit Washington, DC and participating in the Youth Tour is an awesome way to learn about this great nation, develop leadership skills, gain a better understanding of electric cooperatives, and make friendships that will last beyond the week! OCEC will be sending four (4) delegates on the 2019 Youth Tour.  The application is attached.

**Finals Week Schedule is attached - School will be dismissed at 12:20 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of Finals week, which is the week of December 17th. Finals week schedule is attached.

    Web Visits

    Welcome  Grizzlies

    Parents, students, and staff,

I  hope each and everyone had a relaxing enjoyable break.  As you all know I have taken the Superintendent/Principal position and I can’t wait to meet all the staff and students. I am looking forward to this school year and the opportunities it will bring to all. We have some new teachers that I know will be assets to this school as well as to the community. I feel it is a great privilege to have the opportunity to lead your home school district. I want the students in Carrizozo to know their greatness, and that their dreams can come true.  Carrizozo Schools has had many graduates accomplish many great things. It is truly an honor and a blessing to have the opportunity to serve this school and community.
