Grizzly Happenings

Dear Parents/Guardians and Community Members,

 

We have the following announcements and activities for the week of October 16th:

 

Wednesday, Oct. 18th8:00 - 11:00 ASVAB Testing for 10th, 11th, and 12th graders

 

Thursday, Oct. 19thPicture Day - All students in K-11 will have their picture taken for the yearbook.  If you would like to purchase the pictures, they will need to be pre-paid.  Please return the envelope to the school on or before picture day, if you are going to buy the pictures.

 

Senior Pictures - Senior pictures will be taken on this day, also.  All seniors need to take at least 2-3 poses in order for your picture to go on the hall composite.  Any questions, contact Margie.

**Next Week is Red Ribbon Week, which is a drug awareness campaign. The Natural Helpers are sponsoring a "Sock it to Drugs" day on Tuesday.  They are asking that you wear crazy socks that day and on Thursday wear red for drug awareness.  

 

**PFK and Student Council are sponsoring a Fall Carnival on Thursday, October 26, 2017, in the Old Gym from 5-7:00 P.M.  We will have a costume contest at around 6:00 P.M. with an entry fee of $1.00 for all ages!  Come and enjoy the fun for the whole family and bring your quarters and dollar bills!  :)  

 

 

**Carrizozo Schools continues to collect Box Tops, so if you use products that have Box Tops, clip them and send them to school with your child/children or drop them by the high school office.

 

**The application for free or reduced meals is available in the high school office.  Students in grades K-8 are still eligible for free meals.  Students in 9-12 will have to purchase meals, unless your family qualifies for free or reduced meals.  The cost is $1.35 for breakfast and $2.75 for lunch for students. 

 

**Our phones are working intermittently, we are continuing to work on the problem.

 

**Food 4 Kids application and parent letter are available in the high school office.

 

**Carrizozo Schools is offering students and their families a T-Mobile Unit for wi-fi accessibility at a reasonable cost.  The user agrees to use this equipment for either school use in which all school technology use rules apply or individual use in which all applicable school, state and federal laws apply. Any misuses of this technology will result in the termination of the users right to use unit without refund of payment.  If you have questions or would like to lease the equipment for use of wi-fi at your home, please come by the high school office. The cost of the lease is $130 per year and there is no refund if turned in early.   The form is attached.  For questions, call Mr. Espinoza at 575-648-2346
